The weather is changing and it’s starting to warm up. This week’s been a little on the nippy side, but things are starting to get better. As Kiwis, we like to move outside and spend more time in the sunshine and those longer daylight nights certainly make it much easier to get out and enjoy the outdoor areas we have.
There are lots of ways we can do that, but one I particularly enjoy is having a bit of music outside. There are many ways to do that, too. Many people have had extra speakers put outside that run off their amplifier inside. These days there are also a lot of outdoor speakers that are wireless and can run on battery or plug in. So there are plenty of options and now’s a great time to start considering them, particularly if you’ve got a pool or barbecue area you like to get out to and enjoy.
Speakers come in a variety of price ranges and a lot of the cheaper ones will do a reasonable job. A little boombox does a reasonable job and is probably quite fine for the kids. But if you’re a bit more particular about what you want to hear and how you want to hear it, there are plenty of options for a higher-quality outdoor speaker system.
You can go from a full-on wired-in system that runs from within your home, to good-quality outdoor speakers permanently mounted on your wall, or in-ceiling speakers in your patio cover. These produce some really good, high-quality sound outside. And you can still stream. Most devices now offer streaming services, giving you all the regular music you like through Spotify and the like.
Or you can go for something like the Sonos or Denon outdoor wireless speakers. Sonos in particular has a battery-powered, rechargeable outdoor speaker that provides some really good sound. Sonos is a well-known brand that delivers some pretty high-quality audio for the type of speakers they are. They’re also very easy to connect to using an app on your phone, giving you access to Spotify, TuneIn Radio and the music on your phone.
So as we head into the warmer months, it’s a great time to think about what you’re doing outside. Think about what your living circumstances will be like. You’re going to be spending more time outside and you want to be able to hear what’s going on.
I know a few people who have even put a TV on their covered patio so they can take their full entertainment outside, with the TV and speakers all running off an amplifier inside. So if you’ve got an outdoor entertaining area with a barbecue and maybe a fire pit, these options are there. We can even get weather-rated outdoor TVs. They’re a great option. You can leave them outside, they’re totally waterproof, and they’re great for chilling out by the pool.
There are plenty of options we can help you with to create that outdoor living space, so you can enjoy the summer months and all that New Zealand’s great weather has to offer.
Maybe it’s something you’ve been considering for a little while. Now’s a great time to get it going, just before we get into the so-called silly season. Get it in and get it going as the nights begin to warm up and we start entertaining, enjoying the outdoors and really making the most of what we’ve got outside for our home and our family.
So if you’re interested in having a look at the options, I’m quite happy to call around and give you a quote to let you know what it would take. We can provide a solution that will keep you going through those summer months, so you can really enjoy your outdoor area and make the most of it, rather than being cooped up inside in the heat.
I look forward to hearing from you and giving you some options. I hope you’re doing well and I look forward to catching up again soon.
